I actually got my seeds from vegetables we buy at the store to actually start. With the price of seeds being so expensive that I started saving the seeds from vegetables from the store to save a little money. I am waiting on the allotment from the Cherokee nation for the heirloom program but don’t know when they will get here. I also bought my tiller this week and will pick it up towards the end of the month. I bought a Oldie but Goldie one for two reasons; One for price, and Two not buy anything new so I can help the environment. I will upload pictures later.
This is a great idea for my friends up in KC that live in the city. They frequent the city market and eat tons of veggies. Nice way to make their own compost for their own plants. I have a outdoor compost bin or this would be the way to go.
I made this recipe last summer and gave them out as Xmas gifts. I was actually shocked from the results that people actually liked them. One thing to take in consideration: I made two jars without preparing the brine properly and they where a bit salty and the products where soggy. This year I am going to triple the amount of cucumbers so I can make even more of these out standing pickles.
I know most of you know when to water and when not to water but this little gadget will be nice to add to my collection.
